Active research programs at this time include:
Evaluation of various protocols for the treatment of leg ulcers including the use of natural honey was presented at the diabetic foot meeting in Amsterdam last July). Research on venous arterialization for severe ischemia. Research on the use of biological glues. Research on the etiology of venous ulcers. Two of these works, on the etiology of venous ulcers and on surgery for lymph edema will be presented in the next meeting of the "American Venous Form" next month in San Diego, California.
The new Center was recognized by The Scientific Council for Vascular Fellowship and will start training future vascular surgeons next year. At this time teaching courses for medical students and surgical residents are given regularly.
In order to ensure its on going operation and future development, the new center depends on contributions from all possible sources.
